In 1990, Patrick’s life had an unfortunate turn of events. His older brother Tommy was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at 39 years of age.

His family experienced their first brush with cancer several decades
earlier when his mother was diagnosed with uterine cancer. Fortunately, she survived the disease and made a full recovery.

Therefore, when Tommy was diagnosed they expected him to overcome the disease just as their mom had. Unfortunately, cancer had other plans and Tommy lost his battle to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1993.

Over the next few years, Patrick lost other close personal friends and two employees to cancer. During this period, his father was diagnosed with prostate cancer and underwent 41 radiation treatments. He also faced skin cancer, which thankfully was successfully treated.

These events brought to light his own mortality and caused him to wonder what he could do to help others and himself. Motivated to make healthy lifestyle changes, he began researching everything from what he put into his body to what he put on his body, starting with the largest organ, the skin.

Having worked in the beauty industry for almost 30 years at this point, he started with what he knew: hair care. He began making a “no-no” list of ingredients that could have a harmful effect on the body. After eliminating the majority of the potentially damaging ingredients--sulfates, isopropyl alcohol, mineral oil, and parabens, just to name a few, he began formulating healthier alternatives to hair and skin care. Concurrently, he launched SKINJOY, a complete skincare line boasting sulfate and paraben-free, antioxidant-rich, pH stable formulas to help skin become healthy and vibrant.

Because his personal experience with cancer was close to his heart, Patrick was steadfast in his desire to create a product that treats and addresses one of the most unfortunate side effects of chemotherapy: hair loss.

With the mission of creating a solution for hair loss due to chemotherapy, alopecia, and slow growing or thinning hair, Patrick dedicated his research to finding an alternative to prescription drugs with potentially negative side effects. This became an added factor to his “wish list” for healthy hair care.

He began formulating what would later become known as Rejuvenator, a product formulated to, in most cases, help create healthier, stronger, fuller and more vibrant hair while increasing the speed of hair growth.

In addition to eliminating the bulk of toxic and harmful ingredients commonly found in mass marketed hair care products, his new formulas were created with the highest quality surfactants (cleansing agents), virtually allergen-free fragrance and a stable pH – a highly important line of defense in keeping your body healthy.
